Sharing our monuments

The aim of the project

The archaeological sites, the contemporary architecture, the medieval castles, and in general the traditions and the arts constitute the cultural heritage of Europe and are the beating heart of the identity and of the collective memory of European citizens.

We can certainly say that the cultural heritage is much more than historical monuments left by the past. It is all the things, places and practices that define who we are as individuals, communities and regions. The rich and varied cultural heritage of Europe is an attractive center for tourists visiting the area. This is why local heritage has become an important economic factor. In particular, remote regions, far from economic centers, rely on tourism-related employment services.

The aim of the project is to sensitize young people to the social and economic importance of their cultural heritage, helping to promote its role as an essential component of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue; strengthening the contribution of cultural heritage to society and to economy through its direct and indirect economic potential, through creation and innovation, promoting the development and enhancement of historical-artistic resources, and sustainable tourism, strengthening the social cohesion , thus generating long-term employment

Hence the need to promote an initiative that offers the possibility to involve students from all European contexts. The goal is to reach the widest possible audience, in particular young people, local communities and those who rarely come into contact with culture, in order to promote a common sense of responsibility.

The aim of the project is clearly also to develop skills in English language and to enhance basic skills, ICT, in a transversal way, connecting all learnings.

It will be a significant experience for the personal growth of the involved students, which will allow them to approach different methods of study, to learn teamworking, and to face with more maturIty the world of work, then increasing their ability to adapt, their developing of skills and the curiosity towards all that is new.
